« … Comme si la ville de São Paulo était un grand cahier d’écriture »
A São Paulo, une forme d’expression urbaine suivant l’architecture de la ville, le pixo, a émergé, réalisée par des bandes de jeunes sans compromis.
Cette forme d’expression pose plein de questions importantes, intéressantes et même dérangeantes pour certaines sur notre rapport à l’art, l’architecture et la société en général.
Le générique avec « En exclusivité à la fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain » en est un bon exemple…!

Tako est allé en prospection à Paris pour Nuit Blanche.
Une nuit entière à parcourir trois quartiers de la ville (Buttes de Chaumont, Chatelet/Marais et Quartier latin), découvrir et redécouvrir des lieux étonnants avec… 1,5 millions de visiteurs. Impressionnant!
Cette édition était un peu réduite par rapport aux autres années (1/3 de budget en moins, « crise » oblige) et recentrée sur l’art contemporain, pas mal de vidéo (dommage, pas forcément d’intérê à voir une oeuvre vidéo en extérieur sauf si elle a été conçue spécialement à cet effet).
Voici quelques images d’installations qui ont étonné ou touché, avec une mention spéciale pour la boule à facette dans le Jardin du Luxembourg et le terrain de football bosselé!!
ps pour information, Tako avait présenté un projet de Nuit Blanche pour Genève en 2007… et n’a rencontré aucun intérêt politique.

« Hai! », was the eager response.
A few moments later, I picked up my orange juice.
Except it wasn’t an orange juice.
It was an apple drink called « Appletizer », some weird candy, and a little card.
Yeah. Now I was confused.
The guys behind the counter and I immediately launched into a humorous, protracted, Englishanese attempt to understand what the hell just happened. Through judicious fumbling, and after a great deal of precise hand-waving and mangled pronouns, it turned out to be something like this:

Welcome to the Ogori cafe!
As I sat down to enjoy my surprise Appletizer, loving this insane idea and wondering what would happen if you tried it in America, a Japanese woman approached the cafe. Since she could actually speak Japanese, she could read the large sign at the front and, fortunately or unfortunately, got advanced warning of what she was in for. Before making a final decision on what to order, she quietly snuck up to me to try to ask me what I had ordered, knowing that it would be her unwavering refreshment destiny. The staff put a quick stop to her trickery, and I didn’t answer.
Of course, regardless of what she ordered, she got the orange juice I ordered a few minutes earlier. But here’s one of the moments that make this experiment cool: she actually chose orange juice, just like I did. So she got what she wanted. Ogori cafe synchronicity!
Before we left, there was one last thing hat had to be done.
Mike went up to the cafe, slapped down a couple thousand yen (~$25), and ordered a little bit of everything: some ice cream, some snacks, some candy, some drinks, a Japanese horn-of-mysterious-plenty intentionally set up as a shocking surprise for the next lucky customer. (After his order, Mike received single iced coffee.)
As we walked away from the cafe, with just the right amount of delay, we heard an extremely excited « arigato goazimasu!! thank you so much!! » yelled in our direction, from an ecstatic mom and her equally excited young son. They truly appreciated the surprise.

Merci à tous les participants! A la seconde prêt, tout le monde s’est parfaitement immobilisé pendant les 3 minutes, créant un effet saisissant et… un silence surréel en plein centre ville. Par la suite, le stand du Programme des Nations Unies pour l’Environnement a été pris d’assaut…

FLAHS MOB : « FREEZE » POUR L’ENVIRONNEMENT! (GENEVE ET BRUXELLES EN SIMULTANE)
La Semaine mondiale du climat coïncide avec la réunion sur les changements climatiques convoquée par le Secrétaire général de l’ONU le 22 septembre 2009.
Cette importante semaine sera marquée par des activités synchronisées dans plus de 100 villes pour exhorter les dirigeants du monde entier à conclure un accord équitable et efficace sur le climat lors de la Conférence des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques en décembre prochain.
Mardi 22 septembre, des « Freeze » sont organisés en simultané à Genève et Bruxelles.
Qu’est-ce qu’un « Freeze » ? : il s’agit d’une flash mob où l’action consiste à ce qu’un maximum de personnes se réunissent dans un espace public et restent figées (freeze en anglais se traduisant en français par le mot gel) pendant 3 minutes. C’est une expérience commune forte à vivre et l’effet est saisissant pour tous les passants, déconcertés.
Une fausse version du New York post a été distribuée dans la rue aujourd’hui, une action des YesMen, Le journal est un faux, mais les faits publiés sont vrais, à propos du réchauffement climatique.

Tabloid Tells Truth About Climate Change and How It Will Affect City, World
Early this morning, nearly a million New Yorkers were stunned by the appearance of a « special edition » New York Post blaring headlines that their city could face deadly heat waves, extreme flooding, and other lethal effects of global warming within the next few decades. The most alarming thing about it: the news came from an official City report.
Distributed by over 2000 volunteers throughout New York City, the paper has been created by The Yes Men and a coalition of activists as a wake-up call to action on climate change. It appears one day before a UN summit where Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon will push 100 world leaders to make serious commitments to reduce carbon emissions in the lead-up to the Copenhagen climate conference in December. Ban has said that the world has « less than 10 years to halt (the) global rise in greenhouse gas emissions if we are to avoid catastrophic consequences for people and the planet, » adding that Copenhagen is a « once-in-a-generation opportunity. »
Although the 32-page New York Post is a fake, everything in it is 100% true, with all facts carefully checked by a team of editors and climate change experts.
« This could be, and should be, a real New York Post, » said Andy Bichlbaum of the Yes Men. « Climate change is the biggest threat civilization has ever faced, and it should be in the headlines of every paper, every day until we solve the problem. »
The fake Post’s cover story (« We’re Screwed ») reports the frightening conclusions of a blue-ribbon panel of scientists commissioned by the mayor’s office to determine the potential effects of climate change on the City. That report was released in February of this year, but received very little press at the time. Other lead articles describe the Pentagon’s alarmed response to global warming (« Clear & Present Disaster »), the U.S. government’s sadly minuscule response to the crisis (« Congress Cops Out on Climate »), China’s alternative energy program (« ChinaÕs Green Leap Forward Overtakes U.S. »), and how if the US doesn’t quickly pass a strong climate bill, the crucial Copenhagen climate talks this December could be a « Flopenhagen. »
Another ad promotes civil disobedience, encouraging readers to visit BeyondTalk.net and pledge to risk arrest in a planned global action November 30, just before the conference in Copenhagen.
« We need strong action on climate change, » said David Solnit of Mobilization for Climate Justice West, one of the partners in BeyondTalk.net. « But history shows that leaders act only when people take to the streets to demand it. That’s what needs to happen now. »
