… ou comment écrire un livre, y rajouter le contenu de participants et imprimer l’étonnant résultat : un livre avec 186 auteurs !

L’aspect « chacun a sa propre interprétation d’un texte, sa propre compréhension; faisons la ressortir»  est spécialement intéressante.

Assuming that every reader interprets an interesting book differently, they wanted to remind their target that reading is much more satisfying than obtaining information the fast forward way. They spread out pages of the book online, to Facebook friends, key opinion leaders and even the author himself to create a unique book, where every reader actively took part in generating its content. They created another story to the story, as seen through their own eyes. After the pages came back, they published the end result: a book with 186 coauthors and also revealed the author and the name of the book.

Une armada d’artistes appelée PAPERGIRL parcourt à vélo les rues de Berlin et distribue à de parfaits inconnus et de manière complètement aléatoire des œuvres d’arts (affiches…) récoltées de part le monde. Hum, c’est clair ?

Pour participer, n’importe quel artiste peut envoyer ses œuvres au collectif qui en assurera la distribution lors d’une prochaine sortie. Dans les mots de PAPERGIRL :

Papergirl is an art project which in the style of American paperboys distributes rolled art pieces to randomn passers-by in the streets. It is a question of chance and luck who will eventually catch such a roll of art, but the excitement of making surprising presents is actually what Papergirl is all about!

Le projet se dissémine à présent dans le monde : Bucarest, New York, Cape Town, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Charlotte, Portland, Northampton, Albany, … De la propagande culturelle à l’état pur !

I’m not sure when or why people started thinking of ‘culture’ as a product, not a conversation.

« Hey Jude»  is not ‘culture’ on its own. It’s culture because when I sing « na, na, na-na-na na…»  you know right away what to sing next. It’s a shared experience between all of us.

it’s not about shiny plastic disks, carved stone, or colourful mud on canvas, it’s about how we relate to each other, what we share, what we have in common.

A culture where one side owns everything and the other side is forbidden from engaging with it is not a culture worth having.
